Word of the Week - important words

With the start of July comes the first of my “Words of the Week”. Each month there will be a different theme: this month it’s “the most important English words (for me)”. So, let’s get started:

book [bʊk]. Dictionary definition “a collection of sheets of paper, etc. bound together or made into a roll, either printed, written on or blank”. My interpretation “something to read”. This makes a book a source of information, escapism, joy; a great way to spend a lazy day; a way of rediscovering something I’m sure I learnt in school but have long since forgotten (although Google often works for that too!). There are other meanings, but “something to read” will always be the really important one for me.
